Start Your New Home Design Part 2
It is now time to progress to Phase II and review all those pictures, screen shots, and boards you have collected for your decorating project.
Choose your color but remember light colors will typically make your space look larger. If you are working with a small space you may want to incorporate more of your colors in your accessories or as an accent wall rather than paint the entire room a darker color.
It is always nice to have a warm rug underfoot. When placing a rug in a smaller-size space, leave 8-10” of bare floor from the rug to the walls; however, in a larger room you can easily leave 12-24”. An area rug can change the entire look of a room so review what you saved and explore your options.
If your focal point for example is a fireplace; your screen and tool set can make your fireplace go from a formal to a cottage or even to an industrial look. So when choosing even the basic things make sure your choice seizes the look that is unique to you.
From there, you can build out the rest of the room. Another option is to start with your largest item (i.e. couch or bed) and let the rest of the look build from there.
